The Book Snob Tag

Hey, sweet peas!

I saw this one over at Elizabeth @ Complex Chaos and I thought I give it a go. Let’s see if I’m really as snobbish about books as I fear. 😂

Adaption Snob: Do you always read the book before you watch the movie?

No. Sometimes I just watch the movie and don’t read the book at all. I have to admit though that I at least try. And maybe sometimes I just read the book and forget about the movie. Or maybe I see that there is a movie coming out that’s based on a book and think about reading and watching it because I like the premise and then I do neither. It’s really quite different every single time.

Format Snob: You can only choose 1 format in which to read books for the rest of your life. Which one would you choose: Physical, EBooks or Audiobooks?

I think I would choose physical books. I do find Audiobooks or ebooks quite practial from time to time, be it because I’m putting up a shelf and want to listen to something other than music or because I just finished my current read on my lunch break and the Undetectable Expansion Spell on my purse bugged out and I couldn’t carry my whole tbr this morning and have to read books on my phone. Audiobooks and ebooks are practical but I like the feeling of a physical book in my hands.

Ship Snob: Would you date or marry a non-reader?

I do! The boyfriend™ is not a big reader – he likes the odd shorstory or biography from time to time – and I’m not sure if he has even taken the few books he owns out of the moving box yet, but that doesn’t stop me from loving him soooooooo much.

Genre Snob: You have to ditch one genre – never to be read again for the rest of your life. Which one do you ditch?

Oh, that’s easy. Erotica. I don’t understand what the hype is anyways.

Uber Genre Snob: You can only choose to read from one genre for the rest of your life? Which genre do you choose?

If you have to ask, you don’t know me at all! Middlegreade. I would only read Middlegrade for the rest of my life. And gladly too! Don’t tempt me to try and do it. At least for the rest of the month.

Community Snob: Which genre do you think receives the most snobbery from the bookish community?

Huh. That’s a good question. I’m not sure about that. I was thinking maybe books for younger children? I feel like that is a nieche thing, that is mainly interesting for people that have children in that age group.

Snobbery Recipient: Have you ever been snubbed for something that you have been reading or for reading in general?

I have. I love Middlegrade books and I have been snubbed before because “those books are for children. Read something appropriate for your age.” Also in school I was that kid that sat in the breaktimes at my desk or in front of the radiator and read instead of socializing or talking about what I have been up to and what party I had been to. (I never was. I didn’t have that kind of friends.) Of course that made me boring and a nerd. Back then I did mind, today I don’t anymore. I just wanna read my books, people.
